Es el resultado de aplicar veinte años de criterio en materiales y construcción a un objeto que tiene que aguantar todo lo que le des.
It is the result of applying twenty years of material knowledge and construction criteria to an object that has to withstand everything you put it through.
Cada maza empieza en la selección personal de la madera: veta, densidad, carácter. Las láminas se encolan entrelazando la dirección de la veta y se prensan en bloque bajo presión hidráulica, creando una estructura interna que distribuye el impacto de forma homogénea y elimina los puntos de rotura propios de la madera maciza. Después, torno de precisión. Después, mano.
Each mace begins with a personal selection of wood: grain, density, character. The laminations are glued with alternating grain direction and pressed into a solid block under hydraulic pressure — creating an internal structure that distributes impact evenly and eliminates the weak points inherent to solid wood. Then precision lathe. Then hands.

Los Persian meels —o mils persas— son un instrumento de entrenamiento con más de dos mil años de historia. Nacieron en Persia como herramienta de acondicionamiento físico para guerreros y luchadores, y siguen siendo hoy el elemento central del varzesh-e bastani, el sistema de entrenamiento tradicional iraní practicado en los zurkhaneh, las casas de fuerza persas.
Persian meels — or Persian clubs — are a training implement with over two thousand years of history. They originated in Persia as a conditioning tool for warriors and wrestlers, and remain today the central element of varzesh-e bastani, the traditional Iranian training system practiced in zurkhaneh — the Persian houses of strength.
Su forma —más estrecha en el mango, más ancha y pesada en la cabeza— no es arbitraria. Está diseñada para generar resistencia rotacional, trabajar la cadena posterior, los hombros y el core de una forma que ningún peso convencional replica. Their shape — narrower at the handle, wider and heavier at the head — is not arbitrary. It is designed to generate rotational resistance, loading the posterior chain, shoulders and core in a way no conventional weight replicates. An ancient movement pattern with a biomechanical logic that modern movement science has since confirmed.

Del árbol a la mano From tree to hand
De la selección de la madera al sello final: cada maza pasa por un proceso donde la precisión industrial y el trabajo manual conviven en cada fase. No hay dos piezas idénticas. From wood selection to the final brand: every mace goes through a process where industrial precision and handwork coexist at every stage. No two pieces are identical.
Partimos de madera de primera calidad, seleccionada pieza a pieza. Se lamina y se calibra hasta que cada lámina tiene exactamente el mismo espesor, y se encola en prensa hidráulica. El bloque se calibra de nuevo antes de pasar al torno de alta precisión, que trabaja con una tolerancia de ±0,05 a ±0,10 mm para que el peso quede perfectamente distribuido. We start from first-quality wood, selected piece by piece. It is laminated and calibrated until every layer is exactly the same thickness, then glued under a hydraulic press. The block is calibrated again before the high-precision lathe, which works to a tolerance of ±0.05 to ±0.10 mm so the weight is perfectly distributed.
A partir de ahí, todo es mano: cada maza se lija y se barniza con barnices al agua ecológicos de primera calidad. From there, everything is done by hand: each mace is sanded and finished with first-quality, eco-friendly water-based varnishes.

Ramaviva es un proyecto de dos. Francis viene de la madera y la máquina; Belén, del arte, la restauración y el cuerpo en movimiento. Una maza persa necesita exactamente eso: precisión de taller y entendimiento del gesto que la hace girar. Ramaviva is a project of two. Francis comes from wood and machinery; Belén, from art, restoration and the body in motion. A Persian meel needs exactly that: workshop precision and an understanding of the gesture that sets it spinning.

Diseñador industrial. Durante más de dos décadas he desarrollado mobiliario de alta gama y he aprendido la madera desde dentro: cómo se comporta cada especie, cómo responde al mecanizado, dónde está el límite entre lo que se dibuja y lo que se puede fabricar. Diseño en 3D, programo la máquina y controlo cada tolerancia, del boceto al CNC y del CNC al acabado a mano. Entreno esta disciplina y sé lo que se le pide a una herramienta que gira alrededor del cuerpo: equilibrio, tacto, fiabilidad. Diseño las mazas que yo querría usar.
Industrial designer. For over two decades I have developed high-end furniture and learned wood from the inside: how each species behaves, how it responds to machining, where the line falls between what is drawn and what can actually be made. I design in 3D, program the machine and control every tolerance, from sketch to CNC and from CNC to hand finishing. I train this discipline myself, and I know what is asked of a tool that spins around the body: balance, feel, reliability. I design the maces I would want to use.

Belén Piqueras
Licenciada en Historia del Arte y Máster en Restauración de Mueble antiguo y Policromía, un oficio que me enseñó a leer la madera con historia y a cuidar cada detalle, incluida la fortuna de trabajar en la restauración de la Catedral de Murcia. Con los años, el movimiento se convirtió en mi otra vocación. Me formé como técnico superior en actividades físicas y deportivas y me especialicé en Pilates, profundizando en el trabajo corporal con las mejores escuelas: control, conciencia y precisión del gesto. Hoy termino el Máster en Programación Neuromotriz, integrando ciencia y práctica para que cada persona se mueva de forma segura y consciente. En Ramaviva aporto esa mirada: la herramienta al servicio del cuerpo, no al revés.
Degree in Art History and a Master's in the Restoration of Antique Furniture and Polychromy — a craft that taught me to read wood that carries history and to care for every detail, including the good fortune of working on the restoration of Murcia Cathedral. Over the years, movement became my other vocation. I trained as a senior technician in physical and sports activities and specialized in Pilates, deepening my bodywork with the best schools: control, awareness and precision of movement. Today I am finishing a Master's in Neuromotor Programming, bringing science and practice together so that each person moves safely and consciously. At Ramaviva I bring that perspective: the tool at the service of the body, not the other way around.
